Weekly Social Groups
Our social groups have 1 staff for every 2-3 kids to reduce prompt dependency while making sure our clients have quality support. Small group settings build independence and confidence while still having direct feedback on progress. We embed your child's goals into naturally motivating activities to practice conversation skills, adaptive skills, and how to make meaningful social interactions.
STIM assesses skills through direct and indirect assessment to determine which skills to embed for each of our clients in the same game. Our specialty is Incidental Teaching to practice skills including but not limited to: sustaining attention, adaptive qualitative skills like time management/ addition/subtraction skills, introducing yourself to peers and finding common ground, recalling events to expand conversation skills, and even managing their own money, belongings, and resources. We work to teach learners with a history of 1:1 support how to thrive in a group setting to better prepare them for large group learning such as school, sports, community events, and family gatherings.
